Comprehensive Training Workshop OptionsThe purpose of these training sessions is to enable learners to become aware of the state-of-the-art intervention approaches and specific techniques, exercising remaining cognitive and other abilities for increasing levels of engagement and social interaction among people with dementia.
Informational Session
1.5 Hours
After this session, learners will be able to:
- Identify the principles, methods, and benefits of cognitive intervention approaches to enhance the quality of life for people with dementia.
- Identify skills and techniques required to perform specific therapeutic cognitive intervention activities.
- Experience activity interventions that use therapeutic cognitive approaches among groups of people with dementia.
$500.00 + out of pocket expenses (travel, etc.)
Extended Informational Session
3 Hours (Half Day)
After this session, learners will be able to:
- Identify challenges in providing activities for people with dementia.
- Identify remaining abilities among people with dementia that can be elicited to overcome identified challlenges.
- Describe specific interventional approaches and techniques that enable use of remaining abilities, engagement and social interaction.
- Provide examples of activities that utilize the described interventional approaches with special emphasis on the Memory Magic Program
- Review appropriate techniques for activity facilitation.

In-Depth Informational and Behavioral Transfer Session
6 Hours (Full Day)
After this session, learners will be able to:
- Identify challenges in providing activities for people with dementia.
- Identify remaining abilities among people with dementia that can be elicited to overcome identified challlenges.
- Describe specific interventional approaches and techniques that enable use of remaining abilities, engagement and social interaction.
- Provide examples of activities that utilize the described interventional approaches with special emphasis on the Memory Magic Program
- Demonstrate appropriate techniques for facilitation by actually leading a group using the Memory Magic Program.
